The Gateway for Understanding Research in Education (GURU) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by CV. Get Press Indonesia, dedicated to maintaining the highest ethical standards in the dissemination of educational research. The journal follows the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and upholds principles of integrity, transparency, and accountability throughout the publication process.

To ensure the credibility and quality of published works, all parties involved authors, editors, and reviewers are expected to adhere to the following ethical responsibilities:

Duties of Authors

  • Authors must present accurate, honest, and original research findings without fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism.

  • Manuscripts submitted to GURU must be original and not under review or published in other journals. Previous relevant works must be properly cited to acknowledge intellectual contributions.

  • Any potential conflicts of interest or sources of financial support must be clearly disclosed.

  • Authors must follow ethical standards for research involving human participants or educational institutions, including obtaining appropriate permissions and consents.

  • Authors should cooperate with the editorial team in correcting or retracting articles if significant errors are identified after publication.

Duties of Editors

  • Editors are responsible for maintaining the integrity and quality of the journal by making fair, unbiased, and timely editorial decisions based solely on the manuscript’s academic merit and relevance to the field of education.

  • The peer-review process must be managed transparently, ensuring confidentiality and impartiality.

  • Editors should disclose and manage any conflicts of interest that could influence editorial decisions.

  • In cases of suspected misconduct such as plagiarism, data manipulation, or duplicate publication, editors are obligated to investigate and take appropriate actions following COPE guidelines.

Duties of Reviewers

  • Reviewers play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and credibility of educational research by conducting objective, confidential, and timely evaluations.

  • They should assess the manuscript’s academic quality, methodological soundness, and contribution to the advancement of educational theory and practice.

  • Reviewers must provide constructive feedback to help authors improve their work and identify relevant prior studies that should be cited.

  • Any potential conflicts of interest must be declared, and reviewers should decline to review manuscripts when such conflicts exist.

Handling Research Misconduct

The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism, data falsification, duplicate submissions, and other forms of unethical behavior. Allegations of misconduct will be investigated thoroughly, and necessary actions such as corrections, retractions, or statements of concern will be published to preserve the academic record’s integrity.
