Abstract

Compliance with antenatal care (ANC) examinations at least six times during pregnancy remains a challenge in the Ambacang Padang Health Center working area due to limited information, distance, and low awareness of the importance of pregnancy monitoring, increasing the risk of pregnancy and childbirth complications. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the application-based nursing assistance innovation “ANC Care Monitoring” in increasing ANC compliance among pregnant women. A quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was used. The population comprised all pregnant women in trimesters I–III in the Ambacang Padang Health Center working area. A total of 42 respondents were selected using purposive sampling according to inclusion criteria. Data were collected using an ANC compliance questionnaire and visit observation sheet before and after an eight-week intervention. Univariate analysis used frequency distributions, while bivariate analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The average age was 28.3 years. Before the intervention, 38.1% (16 respondents) were categorized as compliant, increasing to 83.3% (35 respondents) after the intervention. The Wilcoxon test showed p=0.000 (p<0.05), indicating a significant difference in ANC compliance before and after intervention. ANC Care Monitoring effectively improved ANC compliance. Integration into the KIA Puskesmas program is recommended for reminders, education, and ANC reporting.
