Publication Ethics:

Knowledge and Child Development in Early Childhood and Kindergarten (KACIAK) [(e-ISSN: XXXX-XXXX)] is a peer-reviewed journal published by CV. Get Press Indonesia. The journal disseminates high-quality research in the fields of early childhood development, early childhood education, kindergarten education, child psychology, learning and teaching, parenting, child health and well-being, educational assessment, and related disciplines and is available online as an open access resource. This statement outlines the ethical standards and responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, peer reviewers, and the publisher.

Journal Publication Ethics Guidelines:

1. Author Ethics

• Honesty and Clear Reporting
  Authors are required to report their research accurately, completely, and transparently. Research objectives, theoretical frameworks, methodologies, participants, data collection procedures, analyses, findings, and conclusions must be presented honestly and clearly. Authors must not fabricate, falsify, manipulate, or misrepresent research data or findings.
• Ethical Research Involving Children
  Research involving children must comply with applicable ethical standards and institutional requirements. Authors are responsible for ensuring appropriate permission, informed consent from parents or legal guardians where required, and the assent or participation procedures appropriate to the children's age and level of understanding. Researchers must prioritize children's safety, dignity, privacy, rights, and well-being throughout the research process.
• Confidentiality and Protection of Participants
  Authors must protect the identity and personal information of children, parents, teachers, and other research participants. Personally identifiable information, photographs, videos, or other sensitive materials involving children should not be published without appropriate authorization and ethical consideration.
• Originality and Anti-Plagiarism
  Submitted manuscripts must constitute the authors' original work and must not contain plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, manipulation of data, or other forms of academic misconduct. All sources and previous works must be properly acknowledged and cited. Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal.
• Proper Acknowledgement of Authorship
  All individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, research design, methodology, data collection, analysis, interpretation, or preparation of the manuscript should be appropriately recognized as authors. All listed authors are responsible for the content and integrity of the submitted work.
• Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
  Authors must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, personal, or other conflicts of interest that could influence the research, interpretation, or publication of the manuscript.
• Correction of Errors
  If authors discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly notify the editor and cooperate in correcting or, when necessary, retracting the article.

2. Editorial and Editorial Board Ethics

• Objective and Fair Editorial Decisions
  Editors should make publication decisions based on the manuscript's academic quality, originality, relevance, methodological rigor, and contribution to early childhood development and education. Decisions must be made without discrimination based on race, gender, nationality, religion, institutional affiliation, or other personal characteristics.
• Confidentiality
  Information concerning submitted manuscripts, including research data, reviewer comments, and editorial correspondence, must be kept confidential and disclosed only to individuals directly involved in the editorial and peer-review process.
• Protection of Research Participants
  Editors should pay particular attention to ethical considerations in manuscripts involving children and other potentially vulnerable participants. Manuscripts may be requested to provide information regarding ethical approval, parental or guardian consent, participant protection, and confidentiality when appropriate.
• Avoiding Conflicts of Interest
  Editors and Editorial Board members must disclose and appropriately manage any conflicts of interest related to submitted manuscripts. Editors should not participate in editorial decisions when a conflict of interest exists.
• Handling Plagiarism and Ethical Violations
  Editors are responsible for taking appropriate action when plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, unethical research practices, inappropriate authorship, or other forms of academic misconduct are suspected or identified.
• Transparency and Publication Integrity
  The journal management must maintain transparent editorial and publication policies and ensure that all manuscripts are handled consistently, fairly, and according to established scholarly publishing standards.

3. Reviewer Ethics

• Objective and Timely Assessment
  Reviewers should provide objective, constructive, respectful, and timely evaluations based on the academic and scientific content of the manuscript. Reviews should assess originality, theoretical foundation, methodological rigor, ethical considerations, clarity, relevance, and contribution to early childhood development and education.
• Confidentiality of Manuscripts
  Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not disclose, reproduce, distribute, or use unpublished information for personal or professional advantage before publication.
• Ethical Considerations in Research Involving Children
  Reviewers should pay attention to the ethical treatment of children and other participants. Where relevant, reviewers may evaluate whether the manuscript adequately addresses informed consent, participant protection, confidentiality, ethical approval, and responsible research practices.
• Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
  Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could affect their objectivity and should decline the review when such conflicts may compromise an impartial assessment.
• Recognition of Relevant Work
  Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited when appropriate. Any recommendation for citation should be based on genuine academic relevance and should not be made for the purpose of increasing citations without scholarly justification.
• Constructive Feedback
  Reviewer comments should be professional, respectful, and constructive. Reviewers should avoid personal criticism, discriminatory language, or comments unrelated to the academic quality of the manuscript.

4. General Policy

• Knowledge and Child Development in Early Childhood and Kindergarten (KACIAK) follows the principles and guidance of the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) as an important reference for maintaining publication ethics, academic integrity, and responsible scholarly publishing.
• All parties involved in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and journal managers—must comply with the principles of integrity, neutrality, fairness, transparency, confidentiality, respect, and honesty throughout all stages of publication.
• KACIAK is committed to protecting the rights, dignity, privacy, safety, and well-being of children and other research participants involved in published studies.
• KACIAK is committed to maintaining the integrity of research in early childhood development and education by addressing allegations of plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, authorship disputes, conflicts of interest, unethical research involving children, and other forms of academic misconduct appropriately.
• When ethical concerns are identified, the journal may request clarification, supporting documentation, ethical approval information, consent documentation, or other relevant evidence from the authors. Appropriate editorial action may be taken based on the nature and seriousness of the concern.
