Correction and Retraction

Fundamental and Applied Research in Medicine and Allied Sciences Indonesia (FARMASI) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity and accuracy in its published content. To uphold this commitment, the journal has established the following policies for corrections and retractions:

Article Corrections

  • Authors are encouraged to productively report any significant errors or inaccuracies identified in their published articles that may affect the interpretation or reliability of the findings.
  • Corrections will be published as errata or corrigenda in a subsequent issue and linked to the original article to maintain a transparent scholarly record.
  • Minor errors that do not affect the overall findings or interpretations may be corrected without a formal notice.

Article Retractions

  • Retraction of an article may occur in cases of serious scientific errors, research misconduct such as data fabrication or falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or unethical research practices.
  • A retraction will be issued only after careful consideration by the editorial board, often in consultation with the authors and relevant institutions.
  • A clear retraction notice explaining the reasons for the retraction will be published and linked to the original article, which will remain available in the journal archives marked as retracted.
  • Retractions are intended to correct the scientific record and alert readers to unreliable findings or ethical issues without removing original content.

Article Withdrawal

  • Withdrawals may occur before publication when authors or the journal decide to remove a manuscript from the publication process.
  • Withdrawal requests require a formal letter signed by all authors stating valid reasons, subject to editorial approval.
  • Withdrawal after publication is rare and follows the retraction process described above.

Transparency and Ethics

  • The journal follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines in handling corrections and retractions.
  • All actions aim to preserve the integrity, transparency, and trustworthiness of the scholarly record while respecting the rights of authors and readers.

By implementing these policies, FARMASI ensures a responsible publishing environment that maintains confidence in the scientific contributions of pharmacy research.
