Publication Ethics:

Dentistry, Oral Knowledge, and Therapeutic Education Research (e-ISSN: 3164-9459) is a peer-reviewed journal published by CV. Get Press Indonesia. The journal disseminates scientific research in the fields of dentistry, oral health, dental clinical practice, and dental education and is available online as an open access resource. This statement outlines the ethical standards and responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, peer reviewers, and the publisher.

Journal Publication Ethics Guidelines:

1. Author Ethics

• Honesty and Clear Reporting
  Authors must present their research findings accurately, honestly, and transparently. Research methods, data, and results must be reported clearly and completely. Authors should retain research data and supporting documents for verification when necessary.
• Originality and Anti-Plagiarism
  Submitted manuscripts must be original works and must not contain plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation. Authors must acknowledge and cite all relevant sources appropriately and must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.
• Proper Acknowledgement of Authorship
  Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research, including its conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation. All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and accept responsibility for the integrity of the work.
• Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
  Authors must disclose any financial, professional, personal, or other relationships that could influence the research findings or their interpretation. Sources of research funding and relevant institutional support must also be acknowledged.
• Research Ethics and Informed Consent
  Research involving human participants, patient records, clinical specimens, or animals must comply with applicable ethical standards and regulations. Authors must obtain ethical approval from an appropriate ethics committee when required and secure informed consent from participants or their legal representatives when applicable. Patient confidentiality and privacy must be protected, particularly in clinical reports and dental case studies.
• Correction of Errors
  If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they must promptly notify the editor and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article when necessary.

2. Editorial and Editorial Board Ethics

• Objective and Fair Editorial Decisions
  Editors must make publication decisions based on the manuscript's scientific quality, originality, relevance, and contribution to dentistry, oral health, and dental education. Decisions must be made fairly and without discrimination based on the authors' race, gender, nationality, religion, institutional affiliation, or other personal characteristics.
• Confidentiality
  Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and share manuscript information only with individuals directly involved in the editorial and peer review process, except where disclosure is required by applicable regulations or authorized procedures.
• Avoiding Conflicts of Interest
  Editors must disclose and appropriately manage any conflicts of interest that may affect their editorial judgment. When a conflict exists, the manuscript must be handled by an independent editor whenever appropriate.
• Handling Plagiarism and Ethical Violations
  Editors are responsible for assessing allegations of plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, falsification, and other forms of research misconduct. Suspected violations must be investigated fairly, and appropriate corrective action must be taken when necessary.
• Transparency and Editorial Responsibility
  The editorial team must ensure that the journal's editorial policies, peer review procedures, publication fees, and ethical requirements are communicated clearly. Editorial decisions must be based on scholarly merit and the journal's stated policies.

3. Reviewer Ethics

• Objective and Timely Assessment
  Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of submitted manuscripts based on scientific validity, methodological rigor, originality, relevance, and clarity. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate.
• Confidentiality of Manuscripts
  Reviewers must treat manuscripts and all associated information as confidential. They must not use unpublished information for personal or professional advantage or share manuscript content with unauthorized individuals.
• Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
  Reviewers must disclose any financial, professional, personal, or academic conflicts of interest that could affect their impartiality and decline the review assignment when such conflicts prevent an objective assessment.
• Identification of Relevant Sources and Ethical Concerns
  Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and inform the editor of potential plagiarism, substantial similarities to other publications, questionable data, or other ethical concerns.

4. General Policy

• Dentistry, Oral Knowledge, and Therapeutic Education Research refers to the principles and guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) as a reference for maintaining publication integrity and addressing ethical concerns.
• All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher, are expected to uphold the principles of honesty, fairness, impartiality, accountability, and transparency at every stage of publication.
• Open Access and Licensing: All published articles are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits the sharing and adaptation of published material for any purpose, including commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author and source.
• Handling Misconduct and Retractions: Allegations of research or publication misconduct are assessed carefully and fairly. Depending on the findings, the journal may issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions to protect the accuracy and integrity of the scientific record.

By implementing this publication ethics policy, Dentistry, Oral Knowledge, and Therapeutic Education Research aims to maintain scientific quality, protect the rights and interests of all parties involved, strengthen readers' trust, and uphold the integrity of research and scholarly communication in dentistry, oral health, and dental education at both national and international levels.
