Manuscript Withdrawal

Manuscript Withdrawal Policy – Dentistry, Oral Knowledge, and Therapeutic Education Research

Authors are strongly discouraged from withdrawing manuscripts after submission, as the editorial and peer-review processes require considerable time and resources from the editorial team and reviewers. By submitting a manuscript to Dentistry, Oral Knowledge, and Therapeutic Education Research, authors confirm that the manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration by another journal.

Authors who wish to withdraw a manuscript must submit a formal written request to the editorial office, clearly explaining the reason for withdrawal. The request will be reviewed by the editorial team in accordance with the following provisions:

  • Before Peer Review: Withdrawal requests may be considered by the editorial team upon receipt of a formal written request from the author.
  • During Peer Review: Withdrawal requests will be evaluated by the editorial team. If withdrawal is approved, a withdrawal fee of IDR 250,000 per manuscript will apply to compensate for the administrative and editorial resources already invested in the process.
  • After Acceptance: Withdrawal after a manuscript has been accepted for publication is strongly discouraged and will only be considered under exceptional circumstances. If approved, a withdrawal fee of IDR 350,000 per manuscript will apply.

Manuscript withdrawal is considered complete only after the editorial office has issued written confirmation. Where a withdrawal fee applies, the applicable payment must be settled in accordance with the publisher's instructions before the withdrawal is finalized.

Withdrawing a manuscript to submit it to another journal while it remains under consideration by Dentistry, Oral Knowledge, and Therapeutic Education Research is considered an ethical violation. Authors must not submit the same manuscript to another journal simultaneously. Any suspected violation will be assessed fairly by the editorial team, and appropriate action may be taken in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.

If an author refuses to comply with an applicable withdrawal fee after the withdrawal request has been reviewed and approved, the publisher may take further action in accordance with its established policies. Any restrictions on future submissions will be considered on a case-by-case basis and communicated to the authors concerned.

This policy is intended to promote accountability, fairness, and transparency while protecting the time and resources invested by editors, reviewers, and the publisher throughout the publication process.
