Peer Review Process

Journal of Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Management (K3) implements a rigorous, objective, and transparent peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific integrity of all published articles.

1. Initial Manuscript Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system. All submissions must comply with the journal’s scope, author guidelines, and ethical standards.

2. Editorial Screening

The Editor-in-Chief or assigned Section Editor conducts an initial evaluation to assess:

  • relevance to the journal’s scope (OSH and Environmental Management),

  • originality and scientific contribution,

  • compliance with formatting and submission guidelines,

  • similarity check (plagiarism screening).

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage without external review.

3. Peer Review Assignment

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers who have expertise relevant to the manuscript’s topic. The journal applies a double-blind peer review process, in which both authors’ and reviewers’ identities are kept confidential.

4. Peer Review Evaluation

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:

  • originality and novelty,

  • methodological rigor,

  • clarity and coherence of analysis,

  • relevance to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and Environmental Management,

  • ethical considerations and references quality.

Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations categorized as:

  • Accept without revision

  • Minor revision

  • Major revision

  • Reject

5. Editorial Decision

Based on reviewers’ reports and recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief or Section Editor makes one of the following decisions:

  • acceptance,

  • request for revision,

  • rejection.

The editorial decision and anonymous reviewer comments are communicated to the corresponding author.

6. Revision Process

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version along with a detailed response to reviewers. Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for re-evaluation if necessary.

7. Final Decision

After satisfactory revisions, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding acceptance. The decision is based on scientific quality, reviewer feedback, and compliance with journal standards.

8. Production and Publication

Accepted manuscripts proceed to the production stage, including copyediting, layout formatting, proofreading, and final publication. Authors will be notified prior to publication.

9. Ethical Considerations

The journal strictly adheres to publication ethics and best practices. Any cases of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or conflicts of interest will be handled in accordance with ethical guidelines.
