Global Exploration of Geospatial Research and Analysis for Future Innovation (GEOGRAFI) [(e-ISSN: XXXX-XXXX)] is an international peer-reviewed journal published by CV. Get Press Indonesia. The journal disseminates research findings in various fields of geography, geospatial science, spatial analysis, remote sensing, geographic information systems, environmental studies, regional planning, and geospatial innovation and is available online as an open access resource. This statement outlines the ethical standards and responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, peer reviewers, and the publisher.
- Honesty and Clear Reporting Authors are required to present research information honestly, accurately, completely, and transparently. Authors should maintain research data, spatial datasets, maps, geospatial information, and supporting materials securely and make them available for verification when reasonably required.
- Originality and Anti-Plagiarism The submitted manuscript must be the authors’ original work and must not contain plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or other forms of research misconduct. Authors must properly acknowledge and cite all sources used in the manuscript and must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.
- Proper Acknowledgement of Authorship Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the research. All listed authors must have approved the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission and publication.
- Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest Authors must disclose any financial, personal, institutional, or other relationships that could potentially influence the research, interpretation of findings, or publication process.
- Geospatial Data and Research Integrity Authors conducting research involving geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, spatial analysis, geospatial modeling, environmental mapping, or other geographic methods should ensure the accuracy, reliability, and appropriate interpretation of their data and research results. Authors must clearly describe their data sources, collection procedures, analytical methods, spatial resolution, and relevant limitations. Any manipulation or processing of spatial data, satellite imagery, maps, or other visual materials must be scientifically justified and must not misrepresent research findings.
- Research Ethics and Data Protection Authors must comply with applicable ethical standards and regulations when conducting research involving human participants, communities, sensitive geographic locations, or other protected information. Appropriate permissions and ethical approvals must be obtained where required. Authors should also take precautions to protect confidential or sensitive geospatial data.
- Correction of Errors If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in a published article, the author must promptly notify the editor and cooperate in correcting or, where necessary, retracting the article.
- Objective and Fair Editorial Decisions Editors should make publication decisions based on the academic quality, originality, relevance, and methodological rigor of the manuscript. Editorial decisions must not discriminate against authors based on race, gender, nationality, religion, institutional affiliation, or other personal characteristics.
- Confidentiality Information about submitted manuscripts must be kept confidential and shared only with individuals directly involved in the editorial and peer-review process.
- Avoiding Conflicts of Interest Editors and Editorial Board members must disclose and manage any potential conflicts of interest. Editors should not participate in editorial decisions concerning manuscripts in which they have a personal, professional, or financial interest.
- Handling Plagiarism and Ethical Violations Editors are responsible for taking appropriate action when plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, authorship disputes, geospatial data manipulation, misuse of research materials, or other forms of research and publication misconduct are suspected or identified.
- Transparency and Publication Integrity The journal management must maintain transparent editorial policies and procedures and ensure that publication decisions are based on academic and ethical standards rather than commercial interests.
- Appropriate Selection of Reviewers Editors should select qualified and independent reviewers with relevant expertise in geography, geospatial science, spatial analysis, remote sensing, GIS, environmental studies, or other appropriate disciplines. Reviewers should be able to evaluate the manuscript objectively and without conflicts of interest.
- Objective and Timely Assessment Reviewers should provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations based on the academic content, methodology, originality, relevance, and contribution of the manuscript, without regard to the identity or affiliation of the authors.
- Confidentiality of Manuscripts Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not disclose, reproduce, distribute, or use unpublished information from a manuscript for personal or professional advantage before publication.
- Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest Reviewers should disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest and decline the review assignment if such conflicts could affect their objectivity.
- Recognition of Relevant Sources Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been appropriately cited and inform the editor when they identify substantial similarities between the submitted manuscript and other published or unpublished works.
- Scientific and Methodological Evaluation Reviewers should assess the appropriateness and rigor of research methods, data collection, spatial analysis, geospatial modeling, remote sensing techniques, GIS applications, and interpretation of geographic findings, where relevant to the manuscript.
- Geospatial Data and Analytical Integrity Reviewers should evaluate the transparency and reliability of geospatial data sources, spatial datasets, mapping procedures, analytical tools, and research outputs. They should identify concerns regarding data quality, methodological limitations, reproducibility, or the interpretation and presentation of geographic information.
- Global Exploration of Geospatial Research and Analysis for Future Innovation (GEOGRAFI) follows the principles and guidelines of the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics ) as a principal reference for maintaining the integrity and quality of scholarly publication.
- All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and journal managers, must comply with the principles of integrity, neutrality, fairness, confidentiality, transparency, and honesty throughout all stages of publication.
