Research in Art, New Creativity and Graphic Design (RANCANG) applies a double-blind peer review system, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process. This system is implemented to ensure a fair, objective, and unbiased evaluation of submitted manuscripts.
Upon submission, manuscripts are assessed by the Editorial Office to ensure:
Alignment with the journal’s scope in art, creativity, graphic design, visual communication, and related disciplines
Compliance with the author guidelines and manuscript template
Adequate academic quality, structure, and originality
Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s basic requirements may be rejected without external review.
All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools to assess originality and prevent academic misconduct.
Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in areas such as visual arts, graphic design, illustration, typography, visual communication, digital art, photography, animation, multimedia design, creative industries, design innovation, art education, and cultural studies.
Reviewers are selected based on their academic qualifications, research expertise, and relevant publication experience.
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor may make one of the following decisions:
Accept
Minor Revision
Major Revision
Reject
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:
Relevance to the scope of RANCANG
Originality and contribution to art and design knowledge
Clarity of research objectives and methodology
Quality of analysis, interpretation, and presentation

Relevance and quality of references
Ethical standards and academic integrity
RANCANG is committed to providing an efficient and timely review process.
Average review time: 1–3 weeks

Review duration may vary depending on reviewer availability and manuscript complexity.
RANCANG adheres to internationally recognized publication ethics and follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Reviewers are expected to:
