Posting Article Policy

1. Open Access Policy

Research in Art, New Creativity and Graphic Design (RANCANG) adopts a full open access policy. All published articles are freely available to the public without subscription or access fees. Readers can access, read, download, and share published articles without financial barriers, subject to the terms of the applicable license.

2. License and Copyright

All articles published in RANCANG are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Authors retain the copyright of their published work and grant the journal the right to publish, distribute, archive, and promote the article. Users may reuse and redistribute published content in accordance with the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and publication.

3. Article Processing Charge (APC)

RANCANG applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) policy. Any applicable publication fees are clearly stated and transparently communicated on the journal’s website prior to manuscript submission.

Authors are not charged submission or peer-review fees. Any APC is applied only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication, in accordance with the journal's current fee policy.

4. Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, academic relevance, and integrity of published research.

Manuscripts are evaluated by qualified reviewers with relevant expertise in areas such as fine arts, visual arts, graphic design, visual communication design, illustration, typography, photography, digital art, animation, multimedia, creative industries, design innovation, art and design education, and related disciplines.

5. Publication Ethics

RANCANG is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and research integrity. The journal follows recognized international principles of scholarly publishing and takes measures to prevent plagiarism, duplicate or redundant publication, fabrication, falsification, authorship disputes, and conflicts of interest.

Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to uphold ethical standards throughout the submission, review, and publication processes.

6. Archiving and Preservation

All published articles in RANCANG are digitally preserved through appropriate long-term archiving and preservation systems, including the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), to support permanent access and secure preservation of the journal's scholarly content.

7. Article Posting and Accessibility

  • Articles are published online after the manuscript has completed the peer-review, editorial, and production processes.
  • The final published version (Version of Record) is freely accessible online without an embargo.
  • Article metadata are made available for dissemination through indexing services, scholarly databases, and other appropriate academic discovery systems.
  • Published articles can be read, downloaded, and accessed by researchers, academics, students, practitioners, and the general public.

8. Author Self-Archiving Policy

Authors are permitted to self-archive and share the final published version of their articles in:

  • Institutional repositories;
  • Personal or professional websites;
  • Academic and research platforms; and
  • Other appropriate scholarly repositories.

Authors may use their published work for academic, educational, and non-commercial purposes, provided that the original publication is properly cited and the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license are respected.

9. Withdrawal and Retraction Policy

RANCANG implements article withdrawal, correction, and retraction policies in accordance with recognized international publication ethics standards.

Articles may be withdrawn or retracted when significant errors, ethical violations, plagiarism, duplicate publication, data or research integrity concerns, or other serious issues affecting the reliability of the published work are identified.

Any withdrawal, correction, or retraction will be handled transparently by the editorial team, with appropriate notices and explanations provided when necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
