Correction and Retraction

Correction and Retraction Policy for Unified Systems Approach for Human-Centered Operations (USAHO)

The Unified Systems Approach for Human-Centered Operations (USAHO) is committed to maintaining the integrity, reliability, and accuracy of the scholarly record in Industrial Engineering and related disciplines. Corrections and retractions are managed in accordance with the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Correction

Corrections are issued when minor errors are identified in a published article, such as typographical mistakes, inaccurate figures or tables, incorrect author information, affiliation errors, or other inaccuracies that may mislead readers but do not affect the validity or scientific conclusions of the research.

Correction requests may be submitted by authors, readers, reviewers, or editors after publication.

Following editorial verification, USAHO will publish an official correction notice that is permanently linked to the original article to maintain transparency and ensure the accuracy of the scientific record.

The purpose of issuing corrections is to preserve the integrity of published research while ensuring that readers have access to accurate and reliable scientific information.

2. Retraction

Retraction of an article will be considered when serious errors are identified that invalidate the research findings, or when significant violations of publication ethics are confirmed. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Plagiarism or substantial text overlap.

  • Data fabrication or data falsification.

  • Duplicate or redundant publication.

  • Unethical research practices.

  • Major methodological or analytical errors that invalidate the study's conclusions.

The retraction process follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and includes an investigation conducted by the Editorial Board. When necessary, the journal may communicate with the authors' affiliated institutions to clarify the matter.

Retractions will be clearly announced and electronically linked to the original article so that readers are fully informed of the reasons for the retraction.

Retracted articles will remain accessible online with a clearly identified retraction notice in order to preserve the transparency and integrity of the scientific record.

3. Handling Procedure

Suspected errors, research misconduct, or ethical violations may be reported by authors, readers, reviewers, editors, or any other concerned party.

Upon receiving a report, the Editorial Board will:

  • Conduct an initial assessment of the reported issue.

  • Request clarification and supporting documentation from the corresponding author(s), when appropriate.

  • Evaluate all available evidence objectively and confidentially.

  • Determine whether a correction, retraction, expression of concern, or other editorial action is warranted based on the severity of the issue.

In cases involving disputes or unresolved ethical concerns, USAHO will follow the recommendations of COPE to ensure a fair, transparent, and impartial resolution.

4. Responsibilities of All Parties

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality, accuracy, validity, and integrity of all data, analyses, and conclusions presented in their manuscripts.

Editors are responsible for maintaining the quality, fairness, transparency, and ethical standards of the editorial and publication process.

Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, confidential, and timely evaluations while reporting any suspected ethical issues encountered during the review process.

The Unified Systems Approach for Human-Centered Operations (USAHO) is committed to preserving an accurate, transparent, and trustworthy scientific record by providing clear procedures for corrections, retractions, and the handling of publication ethics issues in the field of Industrial Engineering and related disciplines.
